Biology Cell Cake...

On Friday, September 22nd, the 9th and 10th Biology class did a little hands on learning. This last chapter has centered around the basics of Cytology and I thought creating our own animal cell would be a great way to learn all of the different parts of the cell. Each student chose a certain type of candy to bring to decorate a cake in the shape of a cell. This project really did seem to be a hit! These girls went right to work...
Only a class full of girls would think to do an ombre colored cell but the affects were stunning! I do believe they were quite proud of their work!
And of course, the finished product...
Who would have thought some cake, little bit of frosting, and an assortment of candy could make learning so enjoyable! We each enjoyed a piece during history class. Now I'm expecting 100% on the next test! Way to go, Girls!
